4iG Group, through its subsidiary ONE Macedonia Telecommunications, officially submitted a letter to the Agency for Electronic Communications (AEC), expressing its interest in acquiring available radio frequencies as part of its plan to enter the North Macedonian telecommunications market as a new operator.

This submission marks a significant milestone in 4iG’s journey to contribute to the modernization of the country’s telecommunications infrastructure and to introduce enhanced competition in the sector. Over the coming months, the company aims to collaborate closely with the AEC to evaluate the availability of radio frequencies, ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks, and move forward with its long-term strategy for the region.

“We are delighted to begin officially entering the North Macedonian telecommunications market,” said Pál Zarándy, Director for Mobile and 5G Strategies at 4iG Group. “We recognize the market potential and are confident that our experience in neighboring countries, such as Albania and Montenegro, positions us well to deliver cutting-edge services to consumers and businesses here. Whenever we decide to enter a new market, it is crucial to have both a supportive regulatory environment and a deeper understanding of local conditions,” Zarándy added. “We have engaged domestic and international experts to conduct a comprehensive analysis of the North Macedonian market, and we are certain that our approach will bring added value to the sector.”

4iG, one of Hungary’s most prominent ICT and telecommunications companies, employs over 8,000 highly skilled professionals and serves over 10 million subscription base across its regional operations. The Group is recognized for its innovative approach and reliable solutions. It is dedicated to introducing advanced technologies such as 5G, IoT, and AI-driven infrastructure, paving the way for a more connected and competitive North Macedonia.

“Our market research showed strong opportunity due to the availability of frequency bands and a supportive regulatory environment,” added Zarándy. “Frequency availability is essential for building networks, and we are excited to work closely with both local and international experts to implement a solution that benefits everyone in North Macedonia.”

4iG Group expansion into North Macedonia is part of a broader strategy to enhance the telecommunications infrastructure in the region, while creating significant economic and technological value. This step aligns with the Group commitment to fostering innovation, following local regulations, and delivering exceptional services.
